Likean, pronounced as leekian, means hope in Kidinga (a Congolese dialect). Likean was established right at the peak of the global Covid-19 pandemic in April 2020. They purchased their first laser engraving machine with the aim of producing covid face shields. During weekends and off days, they had fun making use of the laser engraving machine to manufacture home accessories.

Because of the engraving machine’s capabilities, Likean can engrave on anodized aluminium, coated steel, plastic, acrylic, leather and glass. What started off as a weekend hobby turned into a “side hustle” and then ended up birthing the laser engraving business.
