Our EAN-13 and UPC barcodes come with FREE registration on the International Barcodes Database and International Barcode Registry(IBNREG). Registration enables you to put your product and/or company details alongside the number in an online database. This database then auto-feeds your information to other online databases.
Barcode registration makes it easier for retailers and customers to find your company and product information by searching online for the barcode number or a barcode scanning app. It also helps prevent theft or accidental misuse of your barcode numbers. You have extra proof that they belong to you. And it also helps those few reluctant retailers who still think GS1’s database has all the answers. You can point them to this independent database where your barcodes are registered. This can save a lot of wasted time and unnecessary frustration with some retailers.
It is easy to copy a barcode – anyone can see a barcode number and then duplicate that barcode on a different product. Registration helps protect you against illegal use of your barcode numbers, and helps retailers and customers find the details of your product and business.
How to register your barcode numbers:
Our website emails the barcodes to you. You will receive registration instructions in the email. You can then register your barcode numbers and product/company details on the International Barcodes Database https://barcodesdatabase.org/barcode-registration/ (your company name and barcode numbers will be automatically registered already on the IBNREG.org database). Barcode registration on the International Barcodes Database is optional. However, it will increase the profile of your product on the internet.
After you register your barcode number and product details on the International Barcodes Database, your product details will be displayed when customers search for your barcode number in online search engines (e.g. Google) or on some smartphone apps (e.g. the Zebra app). Please note that some smart-phone barcode apps only search in online stores such as Amazon.com. They don’t search in the online barcode databases. This means that their database of barcode numbers/product details are limited. The best smartphone barcode app’s (e.g. the Zebra app) search in Amazon and other online stores and the main online barcode/product databases.
Note: Barcode registration is free if you buy EAN-13 or UPC barcodes from our company. If you already have EAN-13 or UPC barcode numbers (which weren’t issued by our company) and want to register those numbers, please purchase barcode registration here.
